Stuff that we did ------

This is a beached drilling rig. It was drilling offshore at St.Andrews to find a good site for a sewer drain. Most of the townspeople were quite happy that a giant windstorm put a halt to the operations.

A Very Helpful Warning.

St.Andrews is full of dangers.

Anstruther harbour. Pronounced "Ainster" in local terms, Anstruther is home to the Anstruther fish bar, which took runner up in the British search for the best fish 'n' chips. There is also a wonderful maritime museum, which tells the story of the small fishing towns of Fife, and boasts a pair of haunted fishing boots. Anstruther is about half way between St. Andrews and Edinbrugh, along the coast.

The Italian Gardens at Glamis (prounounced Glams) Castle. This is Nicole and Lin standing under a very impressive canopy of beech trees. We were getting ideas for our own Italian gardens.

Glamis Castle. Home of the present 17th Earl of Strathmore. It was originally built in the 1300s, but has been added to and altered several times. The Queen Mother grew up here, and Bonny Prince Charlie left his pocket watch underneath a pillow in the Kings Room. The castle is still lived in by the 17th Earl, his son, and his sons family.

Inchcolm Abbey, in the Firth of Fourth near Edinburgh. There were old gun emplacements from WWII dotting the island, and alot of nesting seagulls!

The St.Andrews Botanical Garden.

Martin built a little red model airplane. It flew when thrown hard enough.
